Blood Ceremony have spent the last several years blurring the lines between heavy music’s past and present. Formed in Toronto in 2006, they were swiftly heralded as a cut above the retro rock pack, armed as they were with a sound that incorporated the riff-driven power of doom metal, the playfulness of psychedelia, and the flute-fuelled magic of acid-folk and progressive rock.
Since releasing their self-titled debut in 2008, Blood Ceremony have been a superlative presence in the international heavy rock underground. With several successful tours in North America and Europe, the band have built an international reputation as a formidable live act.
The group's fifth album, The Old Ways Remain, emerged in the spring of 2023 to critical acclaim. Diverse, hypnotic, and eminently groovy, the new songs honour the atavistic ethos that has led Blood Ceremony to such triumphs in the past.
