Dub FX is set to bring his signature fusion of beatboxing, looping, and bass-heavy electronic dub to Vancouver. Known for turning sidewalks into stages, the Australian-born artist has captivated global audiences with his genre-blurring sound—melding reggae, hip-hop, drum and bass, and conscious lyricism into one unforgettable experience. From viral street performances to massive festival sets, Dub FX is a one-man sonic force, crafting entire soundscapes with just his voice and a loop station.
Sharing the stage is Def3, the acclaimed Canadian rapper from Regina, now based in Vancouver. A lyrical powerhouse, Def3 is the founder of Ship Records and a past member of Dead Can’t Bounce and Metropolis Now, as well as a touring member of Vancouver’s Sweatshop Union. With razor-sharp flow and undeniable stage presence, he’s bringing raw energy and deep lyricism to the mix.
Prezence who is appearing with Dub FX on select west coast shows this summer will open the show singing soulful vocals & live mixing — "dubbing" his loops.
His innovative Ableton Live rig pays homage to dub pioneers King Tubby & Lee "Scratch" Perry as well as modern dub masters Umberto Echo and Laurent “Tippy I” Alfred. With heavy inspiration from the modern reggae of Midnite, Protoje, Jesse Royal, Kabaka Pyramid, Prezence weaves elements of funk, jazz and rock into a sonic tapestry that is unique, and undeniable.
Don’t miss this high-voltage night of beats, bass, and boundary-pushing sound!
