DJ Nanoos Presents Musiqa Baladi!

One of the world's hottest and most dynamic DJs, Nanoos' North America tour will bring her brand of high-octane Arabic-inspired grooves to Vancouver where it will change the way the city parties! 

Musiqa Baladi– is “music of my land" and is everything I am! "Baladi" conveys an emotional context; it is rooted in native culture and belonging. Evoking nostalgia and connection alongside a global selection of upbeat dance music. The cocktail of genres mixes well with "baladi," the place that melts everyone together and brings us closer, while remaining our unique selves. "Baladi" isn’t singular. From Ramallah, to Detroit, to Chicago to Artsakh, expect global upbeat dance music with heavy influence on the places I call home.

Nanoos is a Palestinian-Armenian DJ and producer from Detroit and now based in Chicago. Her sound pays homage to the rich traditions of the Levant and North Africa, blending them with Ghetto Tech, Juke, Hip-Hop, Jersey Club, UK Garage, Dancehall, and House. With every set and production, Nanoos builds bridges between global genres while honoring her roots and community.

LIONESSA is a fierce DJ, event curator, and community builder who boldly embodies her queer Egyptian-Canadian identity through an electrifying fusion of mesmerizing North African and Arabic rhythms with underground global influences. LIONESSA approaches event curation by blending culturally nuanced performance art with visually and sonically immersive experiences. She is the co-founder of the collective Egyptian Street Meat, an all-queer Egyptian collective of performance artists and DJs, and a seasoned curator in "so-called Vancouver’s" cultural landscape. Her dream is to share her culturally influenced sound with every corner of the planet, creating moments of magic and movement with kindred souls.
