Urbandub, hailing from Cebu- the Queen City of the South have always been dubbed as the
Giant Sound of the South. The band’s giant sound captured a massive following not only in Cebu but
also in Manila and other parts of the country. The band is known to be one of the most iconic rock
bands in the Philippines Urbandub has been around since the year 2000 and was able to put 7
albums and spanning a 24 year worth of successful career in the music industry.
The band consists of Gabby Alipe on guitars/vocals, John Dinopol on guitars,
Lalay Lim-Geronimo on bass, Russell Manaloto on guitars and Sam Saludsong on drums.
Urbandub is the first indie band in the Philippines to release albums nationwide under the assistance of a major label.
The band had a chance to open for international artists- Good Charlotte in Singapore, Deftones in Manila and Linkin
Park also in Manila. The band is also the first and only Filipino artist to perform in
Baybeats Music Festival in Singapore for two consecutive years.
Urbandub announced on April 1, 2015 that they are splitting up for an indefinite hiatus and performed their last
concert Endless as original members last May 9, 2015 at Metrotent, Ortigas.
In 2018, after a 3 year hiatus, the original 4 members reunited for a tour in the United States. Performing shows in San
Francisco, Los Angeles, Las Vegas, DC Maryland, New York, Chicago and Houston Texas.
Currently the band (Gabby, John and Lalay) is performing alongside Russell Manaloto from Faspitch on guitar and
Sam Saludsong on drums from Subscapular.
The band celebrated their 20th anniversary thru a special performance online via pay per view show last December 19,2020.
Urbandub performed last March 23, 2022 at the Expo 2020 Dubai, Jubilee Stage (international stage) in the United Arab Emirates.
2023. In Urbandub's 23rd year, the band re-released their first album Birth on all streaming platforms last July 27.
REBIRTH. With the current line up, Urbandub re-recorded their debut album and was launched on all digital platforms last
August 11. To accompany the release, the band has launched the Urbandub Rebirth eight-part docuseries on their YouTube
channel directed by Paolo Ruiz for the fans to experience the creative process of recording Rebirth.
