ABOUT THE ARTIST
VAYA project is born in 2018. Starting through a first double album known as the « Spirit of the White Wolf », VAYA promoted this first chapter on the road during a tour in East of Europe, in Summer 2018, just before arriving in Canada, Toronto. This first album sounds « rock » but people will named it « mystical rock » by its unique vocal print and tribal drums. September 2018, VAYA started right away to compose for the album BRUTAL, completely cough by Toronto’s soul. With her studio based in DownTown, VAYA was able to fill her heart with the » pulse » of the City. BRUTAL tends to be more experimental, loud, deep and empowered by tribe vocals and percussions.
It’s a unique sound and a soulful project full of truth and beauty: VAYA put all her soul, heart and guts in it without any filter. Her voice will bring tears to your heart and the whole composition will probably crystallize your blood. BRUTAL has today a growing community in Japan, as VAYA collaborates with Yumi SONODA, video maker of her music videos; Unlimited creativity in the same project, an amazing crossover between Canada and Japan. Yumi created a complete full live video you will discover during the show on the background. Coming from Japan, Yumi SONODA will be in person at El Mocambo to manage the visual part and share with us this upcoming event.
